CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program designed to optimize physical competence in each of the ten recognized fitness domains - cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.
CrossFit's goal is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness through constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement, enabling people to be prepared for whatever life may throw at them. From soldiers to elite athletes to our grandparents, our fitness needs differ only in degree, not kind. Through proper training and the appropriate application of the CrossFit principles, the exact same methods that allow Olympic athletes to reach their potential will elicit the same response in the general public.
At CrossFit Chilliwack you will not find any machines that you would see in your typical gym. We work exclusively with compound movements and shorter high intensity cardiovascular sessions. We practice and train major lifts - deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean & jerk and snatch. We master the basics of gymnastics - pull ups, dips, push ups, sit ups, etc. And we mix that up with running, rowing, biking, etc. We mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as the imagination allows, keeping workouts short and intense. Routine is the enemy.
